If you use Google Mail (rather than GMail, as they got sued or something in Europe) then you have access to a big bunch of fun stuff like Google Reader, ~Chat, ~Calendar, ~Documents, ~Analytics, ~Webmaster Tools et al. If you are so inclined, you should check out ~Labs which is where they test beta/alpha features for the future of the Internet.
There are some pretty cool features. One that I have just started to use gives you a little grace period where you can cancel the sending of a message. I send messages by accident all of the time and it sucks when you apply for a job with the wrong cover letter attached. Some coffee place doesn’t really care about your burning desire to work at Harvey Norman.
There is one called “Tasks” which is good. I guess you could use ~Calendar for this, but I find calendar annoying and having another tab open all of the time fucks me off. Maybe I wouldn’t care so much if my screen res was 2560×1600 or something like that but, woefully, it is not.
